About Ron Kenner.
Ron Kenner has personally edited more than one hundred published nonfiction, dramatic nonfiction, and fiction books, among them some one dozen national gold medal/first place winners. As well as other published works, Ron’s own byline feature articles have appeared in major print publications in more than a dozen countries.
Book honors include Ben Franklin gold medals sponsored by the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA, previously PMA) Best Autobiography/Memoir 2004, Reflections in the Ice by Derek Parra with Patrick Quinn, plus Best New Voice Nonfiction (TJ Fisher) and Best First Book nonfiction 2007, Orléans Embrace with The Secret Gardens of the Vieux Carré by TJ Fisher and others.
Ron edited the novel Depth of Deceit, Betty Briggs, a 2009 first place winner at the Hollywood Book Festival, and also edited Ruins of Grandeur, a 2008 Mystery/Suspense/Thriller by Donald G. Geddes III, which tied for a Silver IPPY.
As editor, he collaborated with psychiatrist Harvey Widroe on the multiple award winners Smart Dieters Drop Pounds The Real World Dieter’s Cheating Guide, 2011; Hospital of Horrors Diary of a Medical Student, 2010; and From Madhouse to Mental Health, 2011.
Ron previously worked some three years as a journalist on the Los Angeles Times, and also as an investigative reporter, columnist, and editor for a number of other publications. For two years he co-directed an international press bureau headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, and has contributed many online articles to the American-Reporter.com.
Ron is listed in the Marquis’ Who’s Who in the West, has been a member of the Los Angeles Press Club, the Center for Inquiry, and PEN West USA. He has been active in the Publishers Association of Los Angeles (PALA), the Independent Writers of Southern California (IWOSC), and in the Books and Writers community in CompuServe.
He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Mary and their black cat Mazel.
